Pursuing Health Because You Love God

Do you love Jesus? He Himself asked that question to a close friend of His way back thousands of years ago.
And that one question will absolutely transform your health journey.
In John 21, after His resurrection, Jesus sits with Simon Peter and asks him three separate times, “Do you love me?”
Peter affirms that he does all three times.
To which Jesus charges Peter to go live for Him.
Well dang. Loaded question much?
To say it more clearly: “If you love me, then deny yourself and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)
So what does loving God have to do with your health journey?
Loving God is the essential piece to glorifying Him in everything that you do.
If your primary goal for getting in shape is for any reason other than to glorify God, then you’re serving some other false idol.
And if you claim to love God yet neglect your body, do you truly love Him?
God is not impressed with your toned body, squat record, and perfect diet.
Stop trying to do just “good things.”
It’s always been about the heart.
And your body is simply the outward expression of your heart.
“Do you love me?”
So ask yourself - do you truly love God?
Is He the primary influence for every decision that you make?
If He is, then keep up the good fight, my friend.
If He is not, then what is keeping you from that?
Your pride?
Laziness?
External pressure?
Lack of priority?
Pursue God with everything you got.
Love Him before all things.
Let your actions be an outward extension of the love that you have for Him.
