Fixing Your Priorities On Your Health Journey

Let me ask you something honestly.

👉 How frustrated do you get when you miss a workout?

You probably feel off.

Behind.

Irritated.

Maybe even guilty.

🔹 But what about

  • When you snap at someone?

  • When pride creeps in?

  • When lust clouds your eyes?

  • When you overindulge?

Does that bother you the same way?

👉 Because here’s a hard truth:

If missing a workout unsettles you more than your sin…

your priorities are out of order.

Training your body is good.

Discipline is good.

Stewardship is good.

But none of it was ever meant to outrank godliness.

“Train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

1 Timothy 4:7b-8 ESV

Godliness is a proper response to the things of God.

It’s reflecting Jesus in every decision we make.

Godliness is truly caring about God.

👉 And caring about God more than anything else.

🟢 If you truly love God…

Your sin should bother you.

A lot.

Because sin (by definition) is the thing that wrecks the relationship you have with God.

You ought to be totally and utterly disgusted with sin.

Not like a missed workout.

Not like a skipped run.

Not like going 200 calories over goal.

That’s disappointment.

Not disgust.

👉 So be honest with yourself…

Are you totally and utterly disgusted with your sin?

Does that bother you more than your schedule occasionally not going as planned?

And if it doesn’t, what are you going to do to get your heart in a position that truly loves and fears God like that?

The goal of fitness isn’t just a stronger body.

It’s training yourself for godliness.

👇👇👇

I help my clients live out 1 Timothy 4:8 by scheduling scripture reading right alongside their workouts.

The devotionals work through different aspects of their health and fitness from a spiritual approach, so that they train for godliness while training their bodies.

🔥 We fight your biggest fitness battles with spiritual weapons.

I’d love to help you do the same - book a time on my Calendar and we’ll talk over how I can serve you best!

Hope this helps you my friend :)
